Shoe Sizing Guide
Measuring At Home?
We believe that it's really important to measure children's feet accurately before buying them every pair of shoes. That's because ill-fitting shoes can have a serious impact on your child's foot health for years to come. Ideally you will be able to get into us in store for a professional fitter to measure, analyse and advise you on the best fit and choice, however if that is just not possible here we will give our best advice for measuring at home.
Follow these steps, take your time and be as accurate as possible. Ideally your child will be stood still and tall against a wall but if they are a little more wriggly make it a game with your child, playing dance and freeze often works for us to get them to stay still for long enough to complete the following;
- Stand your child upright with their feet placed on top of a sheet of paper.
- Draw around the full outline of the foot, be sure to do both feet as one may be bigger than the other.
- Using the picture of their feet, measure from the heel to the longest toe (Top Tip - it is not unusual for this not to be the big toe)
- Take the longer of the two measurement's as the measure to use.
- Using this measurement use the conversion shoe size chart below to choose the correct size, for example if measuring 11.8-12.4cm you would order a size EU20, which includes growing room.
- Finally please consider any shoe 'Fit Tip' specific sizing advice (e.g. fits short size up) on our product descriptions, and brand specific advice.
- NB. Spanish Brands (Biomecanics, Pablosky, Garvalin and Agatha) all fit short, so we advise you to size up one size, American brands (Skechers) fit long, size down one size.
- In store we predominantly use the EU sizing.

- If buying Startrite shoes please also measure the widest part of the foot to give you the width. (This can also be used with other brands to determine a narrow or wide fitting show would be best)
